Lorie Rodriguez, LCDC
lorie@retrospectivesolutions.com Lorie Rodriguez is our substance abuse counselor. In 2004, Lorie began a career in addiction counseling and embarked on a 4000 hour journey as a counselor intern. During her internship, she gained experience with individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, family dynamics, and the therapeutic process towards change. She received her License as a Chemical Dependency Counselor in 2007. Her experience includes working with adult populations, in both, outpatient and residential treatment facilities. Formally at Starlite Recover Center in Center Point Texas, she served as Clinical Coordinator and Counselor for their outpatient program. Her strengths stem from program development, case management, 12 Step philosophy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and codependency issues with an emphasis on family/relationship dynamics. Lorie also has experience working with the adult criminal justice population. She provided counseling for convicted offenders, most who had been incarcerated for 10 or more years; as well as, recommendations on whether an offender was appropriate to be released back into the community. In addition to counseling, Lorie worked as a Continuing Education Trainer, traveling to different prison units throughout Texas to provide training on innovative behavioral research focusing on criminal justice substance abuse trends. As her journey continues, she plans on extending her education; and all the while, keeping up with her 3 boys. Lorie and her family currently live in Austin, and enjoy exploring the culture, music, and history that it offers. |
